WHAT I SHOULD HAVE SAID
"Yeah. Yeah, we all still talk, it's true. There are nine of us from kindergarden to grade two. Only nine. Three boys, six girls. But that's it. Just us nine. The rest of us fell apart. They left. And we continued on to stand there at the end, the only ones who started here and finished here, didn't take any detours, didn't leave and come back. Do we still talk? Yeah. We still talk. Sometimes, though. Sometimes ... I wish we didn't. It would make a better story."
